Mr Radcliffe is taking over in line with the wishes of Brian Manning, who passed away in April. However, the appointment follows a succession plan put in place by Mr Manning to facilitate his retire.
As part of the plan, John Davies has been transitioned into the newly created role of chief operating officer, alongside his existing position as Managing Director of Esh Construction. Mr Davies has worked for Esh for 27 years, having joined Lumsden & Carroll in 1991, one of the founding business' of the Esh Group.

Mr Radcliffe, who joined Esh in 2010 as Chief Financial Officer, said: "Brian was passionate about building a high performing leadership team at Esh in readiness for his retirement.
