Mott MacDonald Strengthens Regional Presence In Sheffield

Mott MacDonald has strengthened its presence in Sheffield by relocating its regional team to larger offices.
The engineering consultancy has moved to a larger space in Derwent House, capable of seating up to 200 staff featuring improved flexible working and collaborative spaces, meeting rooms and IT equipment for its multi-sector teams.
The seven-storey building recently underwent a major refurbishment to bring it in line with the latest building and energy efficiency standards. Features included an overhaul of the common areas and reception to create a larger entrance, as well as the creation of staff amenities.
Mott MacDonald's team is currently supporting a variety of local and national clients on major schemes, including the Lower Don flood alleviation scheme for Sheffield City Council, the landmark £120 million Glassworks retail and leisure scheme for Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council and the National College for Nuclear in Cumbria.
The company has held a presence in Sheffield for over 80 years and has developer long-lasting relationships with a range of clients as well as working on major projects such as Vulcan House, the headquarters of the UK Border Agency, the city's Building Schools for the Future programme which consisted of over 14 schools and the £56 million Great Yorkshire Way road link.
John Bowes, Mott MacDonald's office lead for Sheffield, said: "We're excited to be boosting our presence in Sheffield. By strategically placing ourselves in the heart of the city centre we will be able to better support our clients throughout the north of England.
"We will also be able to utilise our modern space to host industry events and talks from the likes of the Institution of Civil Engineers and the Institution of Structural Engineers."
