New £7m Plymouth Science Park Building Wins Accolade
A new £7 million building at Plymouth Science Park has won an industry accolade.
The 1 Research Way building secured the Commercial Project of the Year prize at the 2017 Michelmores Property Awards.
The event was held at the University of Exeter on Thursday, 15 June.
The new facility provides flexible accommodation and facilities for science and technology businesses. It was designed to foster collaboration, encouraging users to interact and share ideas.
Plymouth Science Park Director of Operations, Christian Jenkins, said: "We are delighted to receive the acknowledgement for 1 Research Way. It has been a great project collaborating with the University of Plymouth and Plymouth City Council and supported by an outstanding project and delivery team.
"Our ambition was to create the most iconic and technologically advanced environment for leading edge technology businesses which has been fully vindicated with the tenants we already have in the building."
Emma Honey, Head of Real Estate at Michelmores, said: "Once again, the standard of entries we received for this year's Property Awards was outstanding. From a complex heritage project in Bristol to highly energy efficient residential projects on Dartmoor, the range and breadth of projects has been fantastic and has demonstrated the excellence of the property and construction sector in our region. My congratulations go to all of our winners and to all those shortlisted."
