BAM Construct UK has reported a 19.5% rise in turnover in 2016.

In it's latest financial results, the company revealed turnover increased from £897.5 million to £1,072m, while profit from underlying operational activities was up from £13m in 2015 to £14.2m.

In addition, it's £26.2m profit before tax figure includes a one-off exceptional gain of £12m from changes to two defined benefit pension schemes.


However, the company's order book was down slightly from £1,723m in 2015 to £1,653m.

Graham Cash, Chief Executive, said that BAM had actively sought clients using a two stage tender procurement process.

He said: "We have a full design practice, and a services engineering division, we are able to assist a number of clients to achieve realistic cost plans and manage budget constraints through value engineering and creating better design options.

"We have been tendering ever more selectively to ensure we focus on those schemes which maximise our differentiating capabilities.

'Our aim is to secure long-term strategic alliances with our clients. In 2016, 55% of our new work secured was repeat business with existing clients."
