Work To Start On £13.6m Housing Development In Wales
Work is to start on a new £13.6 million housing development in south-east Wales.
A total of 78 new homes will be built on the former 5.6 acre site of Llantarnam Community Primary School in Llantarnam, Cwmbran.
The 'Oakfield Grange' scheme will see 55 homes being built for open market sale, as well as 23 'affordable' rented homes for housing association Bron Afon.
Initial preparations are under way at the site with construction work on the new homes set to start later this summer. Completion is scheduled for the end of 2019.
Kate Rees, regional managing director for South Wales and the South West, said: "We’re very excited to be creating this attractive collection of contemporary homes so close to Cwmbran town centre and within a 20-minute drive of Newport, Cardiff and Swansea.
"Featuring high-quality, beautifully designed interiors, these superb properties will appeal to a wide range of home seekers, from first-time buyers and downsizers to families, with a mix of house styles on offer, including 35 three-bedroom detached houses, 11 four-bedroom detached homes and nine two-bedroom homes."
