Plans Unveiled For £130m Mixed-Use Scheme In London
Plans have been unveiled to develop a £130 million mixed-use project in London.
U+I has secured resolution to grant planning consent for the regeneration of Equipment Works, which will deliver 337 new homes and over 18,000 sq ft of commercial space on Blackhorse Road.
The development, which is the site of the former Associated Equipment Company Factory, lies at the heart of the Blackhorse Lane Area Action Plan. Over 2,500 new homes and 1,000 new jobs will be created in the next 10 years.
Designed by DLA Architects, proposals include building new commercial units to house a number of small businesses for a mix of workshops, retail uses and cafés.
Simon Hesketh, Director of Regeneration, at U+I, said: "We are delighted to have secured resolution to grant planning consent for the regeneration of Equipment Works at Blackhorse Road. This £130 million mixed-use project will deliver 337 new homes, 24% of which are affordable, commercial floorspace within a landscaped environment, less than 150 metres from Blackhorse Road station.
"There is already substantial investment in the Blackhorse Road area and this resolution will unlock the potential of the Equipment Works site providing the missing link between neighbouring proposals. The scheme will form the heart of a new community, acknowledging the distinct history of the site and bringing fresh vitality to the area, building on its industrial heritage."
