Mace Selected To Deliver Third Shard Quarter Tower
Mace has been appointed to build a new 26-storey residential tower in London.
The Shard Place project will become the third building to be delivered as part of the Shard Quarter scheme in London Bridge.
Designed by Renzo Piano, features will include 148 residential apartments ranging as well as a roof garden on the 16th floor and naturally ventilated winter gardens in many of the apartments.
The building itself will be raised above ground level a set back from the road at St Thomas Street, providing additional retail space and an extended public realm.
Mace will provide full construction management services including the delivery of the shell and core, the fit out of the apartments, all associated MEP services, residential amenities and the public realm.
Michael Baker, CEO of Real Estate Management (UK) Limited, said: "Mace was one of our trusted partners on The Shard and we look forward to working with them to complete the third building in Renzo Piano's vision for Shard Quarter."
James Sellar, CEO of Sellar, said: "With enabling works now complete, the appointment of Mace positions us one step closer to completing the much-acclaimed Shard Quarter trilogy."
Gareth Lewis, COO for Construction of Mace, said: "The fantastic proposals for Shard Place will complete the Shard Quarter transformation and our appointment to deliver the final jewel in the crown following a competitive tender process feels very special. The enduring relationships that Mace builds with its clients are vital to its long-term success."
