More Than 590 New Homes To Be Built In Kent
More than 590 new homes are to be built in Kent.
Keepmoat Homes has secured approval to deliver 598 homes at a new £175 million residential development at Northfleet, part of the Ebbsfleet Garden City scheme.
The former industrial site will be fully redeveloped to provide a mix of homes, including two- and three-storey traditional homes and contemporary apartments.
The site is being acquired from the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA), who will work in partnership with Keepmoat to accelerate the delivery of up to 100 homes per year; while also creating employment and training opportunities in the local area.
Other features of the Northfleet development includes retail facilities, a café, local shops and community facilities.
Peter Hindley, Chief Executive Officer of Keepmoat Homes, said: "This is an absolutely fantastic win for Keepmoat. Delivering this project will help us achieve our target of building more than 4,000 affordable new homes in the UK, helping meet the demand for quality housing stock. We are delighted to support the HCA in this important project, and we look forward to delivering it."
Roland Grant, Regional Managing Director of Keepmoat Homes South, added: "The Northfleet site is a landmark development for Keepmoat Homes and represents the largest and most significant award in the area, since we expanded the business in to London and the South East in 2014.
"This is an important milestone in ensuring this scheme becomes a reality, and the acquisition and development of Northfleet will meet the clear demand in the region. It is another positive step for Keepmoat Homes’ ambitious growth plans in the Thames Gateway."
HCA General Manager Paul Kitson said: "This development is a fantastic example of how we can work in partnership to help accelerate delivery and build the homes and communities that people need."
