NM Group Secures Work On Greater Manchester And Yorkshire Highways Frameworks
North Midland Construction has won a place two major highways frameworks to deliver major infrastructure projects across Greater Manchester and Yorkshire.
The Group has secured a place on all eight lots of Manchester City Council's £240 million civil engineering framework, as well as winning places on the £1 billion YORcivil2 framework covering civil engineering works across Yorkshire.
The newly-launched Manchester City Council highways programme is set to launch in 2018 with potential contracts include both construction & design, and construction-only lots, ranging from £500,000 to over £5m. The framework can also be used by other Association of Greater Manchester Authorities (AGMA), its associate members and partners.
Elsewhere, the YORcivil2 framework covers civil engineering works for the whole of Yorkshire. Contracting authorities for the framework are East Riding of Yorkshire Council (North and East region) and Sheffield City Council (South and West region).
NM Group has been awarded places on both of Yorkshire's sub-regional frame for projects up to the value of £10m. In addition to the two local authorities, the framework will also be used by other public sector bodies and third-sector organisations based in the region.
Geoff Poyzer, managing director of NM Highways, part of NM Group, said: "The frameworks will drive highways and infrastructure developments in Greater Manchester and Yorkshire through to 2022. It's a milestone time for the North and we're very much looking forward to being part of the journey."
