Keepmoat Regeneration To Build Over 200 New Homes In Reddish
More than 200 new homes are to be built in Reddish, Greater Manchester.
Keepmoat Regeneration has been appointed by DeTrafford Estates to transform the historic Elisabeth Mill into 152 one- and two-bedroom apartments, along with an adjoining village of 49 new homes.
The company will undertake sensitive restoration works on the Grade II list building in addition to developing the modern apartments.
The Elisabeth Gardens development will also include the provision of shared amenity spaces, such as communal gardens, picnic areas, sun terraces and wildflower gardens.
Work is now underway and the project will take around 75 weeks to complete.
Frank Mondino, area director for Keepmoat Regeneration in the North West, said: "This impressive building has lain derelict for a number of years and so we’re excited to be investing in the area and creating a thriving new community. We will not only be providing new housing solutions, but throughout the build process, there will be considerable employment and training opportunities for local people.
"There is a clear demand for new homes in the region and we are passionate about working with our partners to not only secure derelict land, but look at ways of regenerating existing areas and restoring current infrastructure."
Gary Jackson of DeTrafford said: "We are delighted to be developing this scheme in the Reddish area. The opportunity to create a new community steeped in heritage is one that we relish. We believe that blending our contemporary design philosophy into this historical building will provide a new lease of life whilst creating modern, aspirational homes."
