Tarmac Acquires Alun Griffiths
Building materials group Tarmac has acquired Welsh contractor, Alun Griffiths.
The takeover will see Griffiths continue to operate under its own name while becoming part of Tarmac's Contracting business.
With 700 employees operating out of six regional offices across Wales, the Midlands and South West England, the contractor has delivered a number of projects including the A483 Newtown Bypass, South Bristol Link, Llanaber/Barmouth Sea Defences and numerous M4 projects.
In a statement, Tarmac said: "The acquisition strengthens Tarmac's overall civils and highways customer offer in key markets, and builds upon its existing network of strategic sites, logistics and operations.
"Griffiths' principal sectors of expertise include highways and bridges, rail, utilities, surfacing, integrated transport, urban regeneration, highway maintenance and water management."
