Residents Invited To Drop-In Session On £2m Compton Bridge Upgrade

Construction News Image
Local residents are being invited to find out more information about a £2 million road bridge upgrade project in the Compton area near Guildford.

Network Rail said the current Compton road bridge has reached the end of its design life and must be replaced for safety reasons.

The scheme, which is set to begin in April, will require the B3000/New Pond Road to be closed with diversion routes in place from Monday, 23 April until Friday, 13 July.

A public drop-in session on the scheme will take place at Shalford Village Hall, Kings Road, Shalford GU4 8JE between 4pm and 7pm on Tuesday, 20 February.

Joanne Parkes from Network Rail, said: "This is a really important piece of work, taking place as part of Network Rail's Railway Upgrade Plan, which will allow us to continue running a reliable service across this stretch of the network.

"We'd like to welcome all local residents to come along next Tuesday to find out more about this work and bring any questions they may have to the project team."
