MUS To Begin Work On £130,000 Water Pipe Upgrade In Routh
Morrison Utility Services (MUS) is to begin work on a £130,000 pipe replacement scheme in Routh, Yorkshire.
The contractor will replace a 300-metre section of old cast iron pipe between the village of Routh and the White Cross roundabout that has burst eight times in recent years. In addition, a new water water main will be installed along the A1035, north east of Beverley.
To carry out the scheme safely, two-way traffic lights will be in operation from Monday, 26 February. The work is scheduled to be complete in advance of the Easter holidays at the end of March.
Spokesperson for Yorkshire Water, John Bond, said: "This is an important project and will ensure we can continue supply quality drinking water and minimise future disruption to customers supplies. It's part of a wider programme of work to reduce leakage across the county, which includes the hiring of around 70 new leakage inspectors to help find and fix burst pipes."
