Artificial football pitch installers Synthetic Turf Management (STM) have installed the world's first purpose-built 3G walking football pitch at Solihull Football Centre in the West Midlands.
A British manufactured 3G product was used to create a playing space to optimise performance and offer the properties needed to play football to a high standard.
The 3G Pitch Installation
Before the new pitch, the football centre owners recognised that they needed to revamp their facility to offer a variety of different sports at a high level to the local community. But with much lower maintenance than natural grass and something that would withstand different weather types. And that is why artificial was recommended. 3G is a product that uses rubber granules as an infill rather than sand or cork. It is proven to be the best artificial surface to play football on and that is why thousands of clubs all over the world have opted for it.
The STM team fitted the new artificial pitch in October last year with yellow and white line markings to allow users to play football at different levels. The installation process involves cutting the line markings out and fitting them into the carpet.
Since the install, the football centre has already set up extra sessions and have local teams using the facility every day of the week.
Solihull Football Centre owners commented: "The work carried out was of a very high standard coupled by fantastic customer service and proven products."
