The Construction Plant-hire Association (CPA) has announced Kevin Minton has been promoted to the position of Chief Executive.
Mr Minton will replace Colin Wood, who announced he will step down at the end of the first quarter of 2018.
In his new role, Mr Minton will report to the CPA's governing council and work alongside the President and the Chairman to shape and ensure the continuing success of the CPA.
He has worked for the CPA since 2007 and was initially Senior Manager before being promoted to CPA Director in 2013.
Speaking on his promotion, Mr Minton said: "I am honoured that CPA Council has chosen me to lead the Association in the next phase of its growth, and I thank them for their support. The Members, Council, Special Interest Groups and staff have all shown an enthusiasm and willingness to further develop the CPA.
"I intend to build on the excellent work that has been done by Colin Wood, and to continue to support Members and the plant hire sector to face the challenges that lie ahead."
CPA President, Brian Jones said: "My first task as President was to help prepare the Association for the future, and so I am pleased that CPA Council has chosen Kevin Minton to take on the role of Chief Executive.
"Kevin has already taken the lead on many projects which have moved CPA forward. On behalf of CPA Council, I congratulate Kevin on his appointment, and I wish him every success in his new role."
