Costain To Relocate To New Tech Centre In North Somerset
Costain has revealed plans to relocate to a new technology centre near Worle in North Somerset.
In 2016, the company acquired its current Yatton technology facility and has since broadened its operations from an initial focus on highways, providing technology solutions such as motorway signage, signalling and CCTV systems.
With Costain now providing technology solutions to clients across all its operations in water, transportation and energy, the company is expanding its operations by moving to new accommodation on Weston Gateway Business Park near Worle.
By the end of the year, some 150 staff will have relocated from Yatton to the new business park.
Andrew Wyllie CBE, Chief Executive, said: "The further expansion of our technology capability through this enlarged Group-wide facility, is another important step towards establishing Costain as the UK's leading smart infrastructure company."
The move comes on the back of a number of additional technology contract wins, including the M6 J21a-26 Smart Motorway contract and Motorway Incident Detection and Automated Signalling (MIDAS) technology systems contract for Highways England.
