Planning consultancy Turley has extended its reach in the east of England by purchasing Cambridge-based planning and heritage specialist, Beacon Planning.
The deal will help Turley maximise opportunities across the Oxford-Milton Keynes-Cambridge growth corridor and the wider East of England.
Established in 2008, Beacon's 13-strong team work with property owners, developers, architects and local authorities on a diverse range of projects throughout the UK, from historic buildings to new developments.
As part of the deal, Turley's Planning Director Sid Hadjioannou is transferring from the London office to further strengthen the Cambridge team. In addition, Justine Bailey has recently been appointed as Senior Planner join Director Steven Kosky and Associate Drector Nichola Traverse-Healy.
Turley said these moves mean the new, combined team has 12 chartered planners offering integrated planning and heritage expertise as part of Turley's wider service offer.
Managing Director, Dave Trimingham, said: "In Beacon we have found a like-minded organisation packed with ambition and talent. Beacon shares our vision and our core values and brings a team with complementary skills and client base.
"We see this amalgamation as a catalyst for further growth and are immensely excited about developing together, and helping clients deliver their growth ambitions."
Beacon Director, Andy Thompson, said: "Beacon was built by the talent, enthusiasm and commitment of our fantastic people and now we are looking forward to taking this next step together and becoming part of Turley.
"Turley is such a well-respected name and its employee-ownership model enables the entire company to share in success. This fits well with how we work and is a logical progression for all of our team. We can see many benefits for both our staff and clients and are delighted to be joining Turley."
