Wates Appoints New Midlands Pre-Construction Manager
Wates has strengthened its team in the Midlands by appointing Lisa Cunningham as Pre-Construction Manager.
Ms Cunningham, who previously held the position of Key Account Manager, is tasked with driving ambitious growth plans for the region, focusing on Birmingham where Wates has recently been appointed to build Buildings One and Four of the £135 million Axis Square development.
In addition, she will be tasked with further bolstering the region’s framework capability, having been pivotal in Wates’ role as a contracting partner on the East Midlands Property Alliance (empa) framework, as well as developing the company's role on the Scape Major Works – UK framework.
Speaking on her new role, Ms Cunningham said: "This is a really exciting time for our region, with our appointment to Axis Square just announced and the first spade in the ground at Nottingham City Hub.
"I am determined that we don’t lose this momentum, and in my new role I look forward to working with our incredible Midlands team to ensure our footprint across the breadth of region continues to increase."
John Carlin, Business Unit Director, Wates Construction Midlands, said: "In her ten years at Wates, Lisa has proven herself to be an increasingly integral part of our team, with knowledge of the regional marketplace that is second to none. With the support of our dynamic work winning team, we look forward to Lisa helping us secure and deliver more exceptional projects in the Midlands."
