Contractors TRJ are continuing work on a £2.6 million library extension project in Carmarthen, Wales.

Once complete, Y Stordy will contain the current archive collection with room for up to around 25 years new material. Overall, the development will help ensure the awaited return of the Carmarthenshire Archives collection to the county.

Carmarthenshire County Council said it is hoped that the building will be open by next Autumn.

Cllr Peter Hughes Griffiths said: "It's pleasing to see work is taking shape on this fantastic new building which will ensure that we keep Carmarthenshire's historic documents in the county in a state-of-the-art, purpose-built building."
