Dame Judith Hackitt To Deliver Keynote At Annual CABE Conference
Chemical engineer Dame Judith Hackitt is to deliver the keynote speech at the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE) Annual Conference and Exhibition.
The event will take place from 04-05 October at Chesford Grange Kenilworth, Warwickshire.
Dame Judith is known as the author of 'Building a Safer Future: Independent Review of Building Regulations and Fire Safety'. The review was commissioned by Government following the tragic Grenfell Tower fire on the 14 June 2017. Known as the Hackitt Review, its aim was to address and explore regulatory bodies and the construction industry, and to make recommendations on the future regulatory system.
She is also the former Chair of the UK Health and Safety Executive and is currently Chair of EEF, The Manufacturer's Organisation.
Dr Gavin Dunn, CEO of CABE, said: "Dame Judith is the author of one of the most significant reports published in recent times that will have an effect on our industry, not just now, but for future generations. We are delighted to welcome Dame Judith to deliver the keynote speech at our Annual Conference and Exhibition, and to offer our members and other industry professionals the opportunity to hear from her directly on such important issues."
