Clancy Group has appointed Matt Cannon as the new Chief Executive of a number of its operating companies.

Effective from 01 February 2019, Mr Cannon will lead Clancy Docwra and Clancy Developments, as well as Clancy Plant.

The new appointment will follow the departure of Seamus Keogh, who will be stepping down as CEO of Clancy Docwra following a 30-year stint at the company.

Mr Cannon's appointment marks a new stage in Clancy's business' journey as it celebrates its 60th anniversary.

He represents the third generation of the Clancy family to take the helm at the group. He first joined the business in 2004, working across key clients including Thames Water, Anglian Water and South East Water before becoming Chief Operating Officer in 2016.

Mr Cannon will be supported by an experienced senior team. Following the recent appointments of new Chief Finance Officer Nick Blaber and Chief Commercial Officer Jon Loveday, the company is also pleased to welcome its first Non-Executive Director, Ian Gray, to the board.

Drawing on his long expertise in advising businesses in a series of senior roles, Ian will work with the company to support its growth.

In a statement, Clancy Group said: "Together, these changes pave the way for the next generation in The Clancy Group's story, ensuring we have the team and experience in place to support our vital work building and maintaining the UK's national infrastructure.

"As we look forward, it is an important time for us to reflect on that story so far. Our independent business structure and direct employment model sets us apart from our competitors and our services remain in high demand, as we enjoy a record secured order book of £1.2 billion.

"We are extremely grateful to Seamus for his huge contribution to this success, which has ensured we are well‐positioned for the future. He will be working with Matt and the board, at Harefield and across the business, to ensure a smooth transition and handover over the coming months."
