New solar panels are being installed in many homes throughout Suffolk.

The Solar Together Suffolk scheme is supported by Suffold County Council and further savings will be made by homes generating their own electricity, as well as benefiting from the government’s Feed In Tariff.

Suffolk residents who have registered their interest, have received offers saving them an average of 20% on new solar panels systems for their homes.


Councillor Richard Rout, Suffolk County Council’s cabinet member for environment and public protection, said: "Nearly 3,000 Suffolk households have now registered an interest in installing solar panels. I’m delighted that this scheme will reduce people’s energy bills and enable households to earn money from the power they generate.

"It is another important step towards our aim of Creating the Greenest County here in Suffolk, as we reduce our carbon footprint further and support more sources of renewable energy."
