SIDERISE Recognised As Environmentally Responsible Manufacturer
SIDERISE has attained global environmental management standard, ISO 14001:2015, confirming its position as an environmentally responsible manufacturer.
The developer of fire, acoustic and thermal solutions achieved the standard after a series of audits conducted by Excova Group's certification division, BM TRADA.
The international environmental management standard ISO 14001:2015 sets out the criteria for an environmental management system. It is awarded to companies that document and regularly review their systems and products with the aim of reducing the environmental impact of their processes on the environment through the process of risk management.
The approval covers the design and manufacture of SIDERISE products at its Head Office in Maesteg, for use in fire compartmentation, noise control and thermal insulation. As part of the assessment process SIDERISE reviewed its business processes and over the past six months has seen an improvement of over 40% in terms of waste recycling. In addition, the company has made a conscious decision to source its electricity from renewable sources.
Tony James, SIDERISE Group Chief Executive Officer, said: "Achieving ISO 14001:2015 is a reflection of the importance that SIDERISE puts on its environmental impact as both a business and an employer.
"It's essential that our employees as well as external stakeholders such as customers and partners, recognise that SIDERISE is a responsible company. Measuring and improving our environmental impact through the achievements of ISO 140001:2015 is a key part of this."
