Armco Asbestos Awareness Training
It's now a requirement of the HSE that anyone involved in building refurbishment where their work will disturb the fabric of the building, completes asbestos awareness training.
Our course is designed to surpass the HSE's requirements concentrating on real life applications of the course contents and how to stay safe.
Our trainers have over 15 years of experience in dealing with Asbestos in a wide variety of situations giving you the best practical advice that only comes from real life experience.
We've provided training to companies of all sizes from individual specialists to blue chips organisations.
Our asbestos awareness training courses are always tailored to suit your needs as both a business and an individual.
Courses can be held at either our own dedicated training facility or onsite at your location.
Course sizes vary, although we generally like to keep them below 15.
We hold regular courses that anyone can attend as well as being able to offer courses just for you and your employees.
Training courses generally take around three hours depending of the number of delegates.
Upon completion of the course, each delegate will be issued with a certificate that's valid for 12 months as per the HSE guidance.
Our asbestos awareness training courses include the following topics:
• What is asbestos? – What does asbestos look like? Who is at risk? The properties of asbestos and its effects on health, including the increased risk of lung cancer for asbestos workers who smoke;
• The types, uses and likely occurrence of asbestos and ACMs in buildings and plant;
• The general procedures followed to deal with an emergency, for example an uncontrolled release of asbestos dust into the work place;
• How to avoid the risk from asbestos, for example for building work, no employee should carry out work which disturbs the fabric of a building unless the employer has confirmed that ACMs are not present.
• Plus much more…
Face fit testing (a new legislative requirement) can also be bolted onto this asbestos awareness training course.
This ensures masks are correctly fitted and are protecting your staff.
