Stevie Parker – Simply The Best!
Sigmat's Stevie Parker is officially one of the UK's top construction professionals after being named Best Subcontractor Site Manager in a major awards ceremony.
Stevie, who works at sites across the UK on behalf of Skipton-based Sigmat, the UK's leading offsite construction specialist, was awarded top honours at the Willmott Dixon People's Awards Ceremony held at Epsom Racecourse and attended by more than 300 people.
It was Willmott's own team members who chose Sigmat's man "for positive attitude, going above and beyond what was expected in all his duties".
Established in 1852, Willmott Dixon is a £1 billion turnover, fifth generation family construction business specialising in contracting and interior fit-out. It holds its showcase awards annually, rewarding individuals with exceptional talent or those who have gone the extra mile.
Stevie, who worked alongside the construction giant on the now open Village Hotel project in Bristol – Sigmat supplied the Light Gauge Steel Frame for the structure – was voted for top honours by Willmott Dixon's Construction Manager, Matt Kemp and colleague, Harry Noakes, Senior Site Manager with the company.
"It goes without saying that we are very proud of Stevie, here at Sigmat," said Chief Operational Officer Marcus Wood. "Many people in the business community use the words 'customer care' without ever truly grasping what they mean.
"Here we have a man who has clearly raised the bar and, even more importantly, it is not us saying that but our client and, within Willmott Dixon itself, their own 'on-the-ground' people. That is an award worth taking pride in and we applaud Stevie's attitude and commitment."
Sigmat is the UK's leading offsite construction specialist. In layman's terms the company is to construction what Meccano and Lego are to the toy industry! The company erects building 'frames', or what are known in the industry as 'superstructures', offsite, enabling construction programmes 'onsite' to be shortened by weeks.
