Astley Containers & Cabins Sees Spike In Sale Of Used Mobile Welfare Units
Astley Containers and Cabins Ltd (ACC) was set up in June 2017 by David Parkinson whilst he was also working full time. He left employment in June 2018 to focus on the business full time having previously worked as used a solicitor. David came into the industry initially selling used cabins for his father in law who himself owns a used cabin business.
After a short period of time ACC had built up enough capital to buy its own stock. In David's short time in the industry he identified that there was a demand for used mobile welfare units but there was no obvious 'go to' supplier. David, therefore, directed ACC's focus on supplying quality used mobile welfare units and ACC has quickly become one of the UK's lead suppliers.
David said: "The demand for mobile welfare units is largely due to their convenience. They can be towed to site avoiding the costs associated with transporting static cabins to site, they can easily be moved around site and are easier to store than static cabins when in between sites. More importantly, mobile welfare units consist of a canteen with microwave and kettle, toilet and hot water thereby providing the minimum welfare required for constructions sites pursuant to the CDM Regulations."
ACC is based in Manchester and its central location within the UK allows connections to a nationwide customer base.
All of ACC's used mobile welfare units are sold with serviced generators and chassis'. Furthermore, with a dedicated focus on the supply of mobile welfare units ACC can furnish larger orders (11 units have recently been shipped to Northern Ireland and 15 to a customer in Yorkshire). It is these factors which have ultimately lead to ACC's rapid growth.
