MJB Calls On Agg Pro's Expertise For New Plant Machinery

Construction News Image
Founded by Matthew Berrett, MJB Excavations & Plant Hire Ltd is a family owned business, going from strength to strength, established as one of Yorkshire's leading excavation and plant hire specialists.

Having an extensive background within the recycling, plant hire and groundworks sectors, with his 'hands on' approach, Matthew is at the forefront of managing a successful business and acknowledging where there is a need for focus.

MJB has recently acquired and developed a state of the art, 8-acre recycling plant to facilitate production of 10 recycled products to include but not exclusive to type 1, gabion stone and pipe bedding.

The new recycling plant provides a convenient location for contractors to utilise the free tip for clean hardcore, ensuring prompt deliveries across Yorkshire and also providing a bottomless supply of quality aggregate and topsoil.

Due to this recent expansion, Matthew sought out the assistance of Agg Pro's Tom Elgin to find out which machinery would be most cost effective and efficient to process the extra material being processed on site.

Taking into account the type and quantity of product to be handled, the McCloskey J45 Jaw Crusher was the superior choice to enhance the MJB portfolio. Matthew was extremely impressed by the simplicity of use of the J45, with uncomplicated hydraulic valves operating each conveyor or feeder and adjustment of the crusher setting while the plant is running.

The most outstanding aspect of the J45 for Matthew was how efficient the pre-screen option is and the clever management of the feeder and pre-screen combined to ensure only clean products were being crushed and all other products were bypassed. The clearances under the crusher and drop down conveyor dealt with whatever rebar was thrown at the crusher. Matthew stated 'it's clear it has been designed from an engineering point of view and for ease of use'.
