UK equipment rental company A-Plant is preparing to launch its new smartphone application - A-Plant Arena.
In an effort to increase site safety and enhance the customer experience, the new app will give users full control of their equipment hire.
To reduce the risk of theft and potential accidents, the new technology ensures machinery does not end up in the wrong hands by only allowing deliveries to be accepted by people on site who have been pre-selected to receive equipment hires.
Replacing paper based processes, the new innovative application also allows customers to digitally accept and log deliveries, with an automatic notification issued to accounts payable and procurement teams alerting them that equipment has been received on site.
Following delivery, A-Plant Arena then instantly aligns with and updates customers' internal systems.
Other features include the ability to upload photographs and notes related to the delivery, reducing paperwork and administration tasks for both on-site and office-based personnel.
Andy Wortley, Implementation Director at A-Plant, said the new system will provide the company with the opportunity to provide an even higher level of service for its customers.
He explained: "Arena adds value to A-Plant's proposition and builds on our commitment to providing customers with the very best service and equipment on the market.
"The new technology will enable our customers to work smarter and more efficiently and we're excited to be the first plant, tool and equipment rental company to offer this industry-leading technology."
A-Plant Arena will be available to download from the Apple App Store for iOS devices and Google Play Store for Android devices.
Customers can access the app using the same login details provided for A-Plant's customer extranet, Axis.
