Merseyside Commercial Development Moves Forward
A commercial development in St Helens is set to be boosted with a further industrial unit.
Caddick Construction has landed a £1.5 million design and build contract to deliver a 20,000 sq ft unit on behalf of Network Space.
This project will follow on from the successful first two phases of development at Mere Grange.
The contractor will continue to work with Network Space, DLA Architects and structural engineers White Young Green on the third phase.
The first £7 million speculative scheme provided 90,500 sq ft of industrial space providing four self-contained units and was immediately followed by the construction of a 51,800 sq ft unit, which Network Space pre-let to specialist laundry firm Synergy LMS.
The team has now secured the third contract and will commence work this month, with completion expected before the end of the year.
Mere Grange sits adjacent to the St Helens Linkway and is within a five-minute drive of Junction 7 of the M62 facilitating easy access to the M6 and Manchester and Liverpool.
Once complete the development will have delivered 162,000 sq ft of high quality commercial premises within two-years.
Stephen Barnes, Managing Director (Development) at Network Space, said: "Given the great success and quality of the previous two phases, we are delighted to be working with Caddick again to deliver the third and final phase of development at our Mere Grange site.
"It has been a fantastic effort to date from all parties involved and the high calibre tenants we have attracted to the site to date is a testament to the quality of the scheme."
Mere Grange is being developed in association with Homes England, St Helens Council and Liverpool City Region Combined Regional Authority.
CBRE and B8 are acting as joint agents for Network Space on the Mere Grange development and WCP Associates are part of the professional team.
