Yorkshire Cargo Firm Expands With New £1.6m Facility
A UK cargo handling firm in Yorkshire has been boosted with a new £1.6 million warehouse and office facility.
The new development at Viking Shipping Services Ltd HQ forms part of an expansion at the site.
It includes a new 12,000 sq ft state of the art warehouse with adjoining 4,500 sq ft offices as well as an open canopy storage area.
Britcon (UK) Ltd successfully delivered the new facility, completing the design and build contract on budget and within a tight timeframe of just 29 weeks.
Located just off the M62 in North Yorkshire, Viking is strategically located to facilitate a range of services for cargo arriving by both road and sea.
The recently completed facilities provide much needed additional warehouse storage and offices for the company, allowing it to grow and expand into new and existing markets.
Matt Harker, Regional Manager at Britcon said: "We are delighted to complete and handover this interesting project to Viking Shipping. Construction works on live operational sites bring added challenges but the project team worked around this with acute planning, coordination and communication to ensure continuity of business for the client and a safe working environment for all involved. We are very pleased with the end result."
Graeme Pickering, Director at Viking Shipping Services added: "The challenge on this project for both Britcon and Viking was to complete the project during our operation hours and, whilst at times there were pinch points, the teams worked together to achieve the right result. We are extremely pleased with the outcome. Matt and his team have been an absolute pleasure to deal with and nothing was too much trouble for them."
