Amey FMDJ Business Wins Gold RoSPA Award
Amey's Facilities Management, Defence and Justice (FMDJ) Business has been recognised for its excellent health and safety practices.
The company secured Gold from The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) awards, which recognise achievement in health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.
As part of engagement activities for 2019, Amey's FMDJ has ensured its road map to achieve zero incidents by 2021, the Zero code, is embedded across all accounts. Communications activity has also been ramped up. The Health and Safety Team has worked with accounts to understand where there most common issues are as well as introducing Safety Leadership Forums for accounts to share best practice and put targeted measures in place to stop incidents occurring again.
Amanda Fisher Managing Director, FM Defence and Justice said: "We are pleased to have been recognised by RoSPA for our efforts in Health and Safety. The FMDJ business has worked hard over the past year to drive down incidents and injuries to our people. Health and Safety is a key area of focus for the business. This award is a credit to the entire team for their focus on Zero Code and ensuring our employees come to work and go home safely. I am pleased our efforts are paying off and we are seeing a significant reduction in accident rates. We will continue to focus on Health and Safety to achieve Amey's target of zero incidents by 2021."
