RSK has announced that it has acquired domestic subsidence investigation specialist Geocore Site Investigations Ltd.
This marks the fifth acquisition for the fast-growing RSK group – the UK's leading integrated environmental, engineering and technical services consultancy – this financial year.
Geocore Site Investigations is a company of 30 people based in Redcar, North Yorkshire. Founded in 1998, the company specialises in the investigation of domestic subsidence, providing detailed site surveys with foundation inspections and drainage CCTV. Its services include trial pitting, window sampling, rotary drilling and cable percussion drilling. Geocore's range of specialist drilling solutions will complement RSK's existing drilling services.
RSK's founder and chief executive officer Alan Ryder, said: "Geocore's service provision complements RSK's existing services perfectly and I am looking forward to expanding RSK's drilling provision as we begin collaborating.
"Like RSK, Geocore focuses on its employees and clients. I'm confident that this shared ethos, with our complementary services, will allow both companies to thrive."
In joining forces, Geocore Site Investigations will become part of RSK's contracting division under the direction of RSK divisional director Claire Knighton. Geocore specialises in domestic subsidence investigations and deep ground source drilling, enabling RSK to increase its drilling provision and expand into other areas. Adam Woodhead, Geocore Site Investigations managing director and founder, will continue to lead the business with the support of director Michelle Woodhead.
Adam Woodhead also said: "As a people-orientated business, Geocore is excited to be joining a larger business with a shared ethos and family feel. We see many synergies that will provide new opportunities for us all. Moving forward with the support of RSK's integrated safety, health, environmental and quality management system, I will be delighted to see Geocore take the next step as a respected provider of specialist drilling solutions."
Geocore Site Investigations is the latest acquisition under RSK's funding package from Ares Capital Europe and a revolving credit facility provided by NatWest announced in December 2018. RSK is investing in the development of new businesses, bolt-on complementary businesses, equipment and capabilities to increase its services and expand internationally. RSK now employs more than 3500 staff in 100 offices worldwide and has an annual turnover in excess of £250 million.
