Stepnell has completed work on a new a multi-million pound state-of-the-art yacht club in Poole, Dorset.

Appointed by Parkstone Yacht Club, Stepnell collaborated with architects Boyle & Summers for the design and build a new three storey clubhouse, with flexible accommodation that can be adapted to support a wide range of sailing events.

The new building, which offers external terraces overlooking Poole Harbour to make the most of the views of the club's sailing events, features social function facilities, a restaurant and bar, conference committee rooms and bespoke youth training facilities for its 2800 members.

Robert Speirs, regional director at Stepnell, said: "We are delighted to have completed Parkstone Yacht Club. As one of the country's premier yacht clubs, the new facility now offers some of the best sailing facilities for its existing and potential new members. Following a successful year for Stepnell's south coast offices, we are really pleased with the finished project and we look forward to seeing the local community enjoy the new modern facilities.

"This development is a strong addition to our experience in the creation of sports and leisure facilities, and our extensive knowledge and understanding in this sector ensures that a functional, efficient leisure space is created to meet the client's needs, expectations and existing image.

"Within our specialist design teams, we understand how to make the most of leisure spaces and, in this case, how to maximise the fantastic scenic views overlooking the harbour. We also introduced energy efficient and cost saving methods by installing photovoltaic solar panels of the roof of the new building."

With more than 150 years of experience delivering public and private sector projects across central England and the south of the UK, Parkstone Yacht Club is a strong addition to Stepnell's existing portfolio of sports and leisure clients – which includes the recently completed £6.75 million redevelopment programme at Feldon Valley Golf Club in the Cotswolds and the sensitive £13.2 million restoration of the former Falcon Hotel, in Stratford-Upon-Avon.
