Neighbourhood Development Launches In Chichester
A project to create a new 100-home neighbourhood in Chichester is underway.
This scheme will see the development of a new community at New Fields featuring homes with public open space and a park.
Chichester District Council is also considering a new planning application for the site, which would see the development of 43 additional homes.
A leading UK housebuilder is leading the scheme, with plans to deliver a range of two and four-bedroom houses from its award winning Heritage Collection. Inspired by the Arts & Crafts architectural movement of the 1930s and benefitting from traditional exteriors such as gable ended roofs, porches and red brick exteriors, the homes will be open-plan and contemporary, with high ceilings and integrated appliances.
Investment is also being offered to provide improvements to local transport links, in particular the A27 which is a key arterial route in and out of Chichester, as well as a contribution toward the maintenance of Chichester Harbour, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
Mark Vanson, Sales Director at Redrow Southern Counties commented: "We are delighted to be launching our first ever community in Chichester, a vibrant city with heaps of history, sandy beaches and country charm.
"Its eclectic offering and enviable location will no doubt attract all types of buyers, from couples looking for their starter home, to growing families, to those wanting to 'rightsize' by the coast for a change of lifestyle. The homes at New Fields have been designed to cater to these varying needs and lay the foundations of a diverse and thriving new community.
"New Fields is Redrow's second community in West Sussex, accompanying Ashdown Vale, our development in Barnham where the homes are now all sold. West Sussex represents a key growth area for us with a number of proposed developments in the pipeline, not least the former Ford Airfield which is earmarked for 1,500 new homes and brand-new community facilities and infrastructure."
