Kier has landed a spot on a new £1.2 billion framework in London.

The firm was named on Lot 3 (for projects over £20m) of the Islington New Build Construction Framework.

The four-year framework will focus on residential mixed tenure new build projects and may cover works to education, health, third sector or community buildings as well as non-residential elements on a stand-alone basis, or as a mixed-use scheme.

Owned by Islington Council, the framework will promote the use of modern methods of construction and be utilised in wider council areas like the London Borough of Hackney and the London Borough of Camden.

Cliff Thomas, managing director at Regional Building London & South East, said: "Our appointment to this framework is significant for us as it supports our vision and strategic priority to operate under long-term frameworks, providing us with good visibility of future work opportunities. We are looking forward to working with these boroughs and delivering high-quality facilities for the communities.

"Our design and build knowledge and expertise of delivering projects in various sectors will support us in delivering these schemes for three prominent London Boroughs."
