Galliford Try has achieved an above average score of 41.14 in the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS).

As well as improving its own high score of 40.5 the previous year, the Group has exceeded the industry average of 37.1.

The CCS scheme seeks to improve the image of the construction industry by striving to promote and achieve best practice across five key areas of communities, the workforce, safety, environment and site appearance.

Sites are then assessed against strict criteria in each category with a maximum score of 50 being awarded.

Suzie Ellis, Head of Sustainability, commented: "We take our role in society seriously, working to improve the UK's built environment and delivering lasting change for the communities we work in. CCS provides a great industry-wide benchmark of how we are performing and I am thrilled that we have once again achieved a leading score across our peer group. This is a particularly great achievement against the backdrop of the Covid-19 pandemic, which has provided an additional challenge to our teams over the five months. Congratulations to all our teams for setting a fantastic example to others, helping to make our industry more attractive to newcomers and being a good neighbour."
