Interserve Construction Starts Work To Develop Two New Schools
Interserve Construction has started work to develop two new schools in the West Midlands.
Employees from the company are now on site at new High Point Academy in Wednesbury and the Beacon College Special Academy in Hereford.
The was selected for both contracts by the Department for Education (DfE) which marks the eleventh new school build project that Interserve Construction has won this year.
The new High Point Academy is a Special Educational Needs or Disabilities (SEND) school delivered under the DfE's Free School Programme to provide education to 90 students ranging in age from 11 to 16 with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Asperger’s and a range of learning difficulties.
Operated by Barrs Court School Academy Trust, Beacon College Special Academy, another SEND school, will create a facility for pupils with a range of specialist needs. The school will provide places for up to 60 pupils, aged from 16 to 19, with severe and complex learning difficulties, including autism.
Simon Butler, Divisional Director at Interserve Construction, said: "We are delighted to be starting work on these two new special needs education projects, which further adds to our growing portfolio of work in the education sector. We are able to draw on a wide range of experience and expertise within Interserve to build outstanding educational facilities by a locally-based team of construction professionals."
