Road resurfacing work is continuing on Frank Perkins Parkway in Peterborough.
The work is expected to be completed by mid-November.
It is part of a £1.6 million investment programme by the City Council into Peterborough's parkways and this year it will be spent on Frank Perkins Parkway northbound.
The work will take place overnight between 8pm and 6am to minimise disruption for drivers.
As part of the resurfacing work the eastbound on-slip at junction 3a of the Fletton Parkway (from Ikea roundabout) through to junction 8 (Eye roundabout) will be closed overnight. While this closure is in place there will be a signed diversion route in place .
A reduced speed limit of 40mph may be necessary between these junctions during the day if surfacing is not finished during the night. This will be a precautionary measure and will be put in place for driver safety as the road surface will not be finished, however, signage will indicate when and where this will be necessary.
Councillor Peter Hiller Cabinet Member for Strategic Planning, Commercial Strategy and Investment said: "As this is a major route around Peterborough it is essential the parkway is maintained and this work will involve replacing the older section of the parkway which has deteriorated, but once it's been resurfaced people's journeys will be a lot smoother and the parkway will last longer.
"We have worked hard with our contractor to make sure the work is planned overnight to keep disruption to a minimum and I would urge drivers to plan their journeys and allow extra time."
