GAP Hire Solutions is investing in an additional 240 EasyCabins.
The rental firm works in close partnership with its supplier AJC EasyCabin and the investment will extend GAP's fleet to over 1,700 units by early 2021.
Over the years, GAP and AJC EasyCabin have worked together to develop and test new models which innovate and further develop the standards of site welfare. The new EasyCabin products that GAP has invested in include the EcoHybrid fully automatic welfare unit and the EcoHybrid Solar model, both of which are some of the most fuel efficient on the market. The hire company has also added more of the award-winning EcoSmart ZERO welfare units to its fleet, which are run completely on solar and hydrogen fuel cell power. All of these models of welfare units come in sizes ranging from 12ft to the extra-large size of 22.9ft.
In addition to the new welfare units, after a successful two-month trial with one of its customers, GAP has ordered more Mobile Solar Pods (remote solar power generators), which significantly reduce carbon emissions as well as fuel costs, and Solar Light ZEROs (solar powered LED tower lights).
GAP is committed to carbon reduction and is working in partnership with its supply chain to develop products powered by alternative fuels and solar. By working with AJC EasyCabin, GAP has developed and tested new models and power systems, which are leading the drive toward zero emission welfare solutions. The solar and hydrogen powered EcoSmart ZERO welfare unit is a perfect example of this and has been recognised by the hire industry by winning the Product of the Year accolade at the Hire Awards of Excellence 2020.
Douglas Anderson, Joint Managing Director at GAP, commented: "GAP continues to work closely with AJC EasyCabin creating and developing incredibly innovative and environmentally friendly products for our customers.
"Reducing carbon emissions in our operations is a major focus for us and we are quite demanding of our supply chain to work with us to make this happen. That means selecting like-minded suppliers and developing long-term partnerships with them. Green Apple Award winners, AJC, is a brilliant example of this."
