The Input Group has appointed a new health and safety advisor, Gavin McCart.
The family-run firm, which delivers a wide variety of services from construction and building works to interior fit out, has succeeded in staying on site throughout the pandemic by implementing stringent health and safety measures.
With more than 20 years' experience in the construction industry, Gavin will help to further develop The Input Group's practices by overseeing all its sites across the country, putting together construction phase plans, work package plans and risk assessment reports – as well as acting as the business’ mental health first aider.
He said: "I'm incredibly excited to join the team and have really enjoyed my new role so far. Joining The Input Group was a great opportunity for me to get on board with a growing company and have a real impact on the way it operates while developing my existing skills as the company progresses.
"Since Covid-19, there have been many regulation changes and government guidelines that need to be followed on site, so it has been challenging to join a new team during the pandemic. However, The Input Group already has a fantastic reputation in terms of health and safety – possessing an industry leading LTIFR (loss time injury frequency rate) of zero – which has made the transition as smooth as possible, and I look forward to being a part of this great legacy for years to come."
Not only has The Input Group secured a zero LTIFR rating, it has also recently invested in ProCore – a construction management software, which helps to oversee all aspects of each project including health and safety assessments.
Chris Monk, Managing Director at The Input Group, said: "These initiatives work to support the business’ Concept Zero policy, promoting a zero-tolerance attitude to injuries, delays and accidents and making sure we do everything we can to prevent these eventualities from occurring.
"Health and safety has never been more important than it is right now, so we want to make sure we are doing everything we can to keep our sites as safe and Covid-compliant as possible.Gavin is incredibly experienced within the sector, and we look forward to seeing him progress at The Input Group."
