Oxfordshire County Council has appointed Atkins and Faithful+Gould as its capital transport Delivery partner, tasked with helping to deliver £600million of capital projects over the next four years, including Oxfordshire's Growth Deal and Housing Infrastructure Fund programmes.
As the council's delivery partner, Atkins and Faithful+Gould will provide an embedded commercial function with project controls specialists, alongside project and programme managers across the council’s transport portfolio.
Owen Jenkins, (Director of Growth and Economy) Oxfordshire County Council, said: "These are exciting times for Oxfordshire as we take the next steps in delivering our large infrastructure programme. This new arrangement will support us in making sure we get the absolute best from the opportunities this new infrastructure presents for our residents and help make some real shifts towards more sustainable forms of transport."
Mike Batheram, Local Transport Director at Atkins, said: "Through this appointment, our teams will support the delivery of over £600m of investment, underpinning the sustainable growth of housing and employment in the County. The delivery partner role builds on the expert support, and industry leading advice, that we and our partners have provided to Oxfordshire over the last few years."
Adam Rome, Regional Director and Local Transport Lead at Faithful+Gould, said: "Our aim is to create an integrated, client- focused partnership that introduces skills and expertise from across Atkins and Faithful+Gould directly into the client’s organisation to help them deliver a world-class, communities-centric transport system that accelerates Oxfordshire's economic growth."
Through this appointment, Atkins and Faithful+Gould will provide a pre- and post-commercial and project controls team to Oxfordshire County Council’s major transport projects portfolio, helping the council deliver the projects within the funding it has secured.
