Galliford Try has become a 'Company Supporter' of the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity, further expanding its commitment to mental health and wellbeing across its business and the sector.
The Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity (LCIC) is the only charity that provides emotional, physical and financial wellbeing support to construction workers and their families, offering a range of tools such as its free, confidential 24/7 Construction Industry Helpline and helpline app, along with a number of free health, wellbeing and financial masterclasses each month, and Mental Health First Aid England approved Mental Health First Aider course. LCIC's recent 'Help Inside the Hard Hat' campaign raises awareness of poor mental health in the industry and promotes the charities resources and helplines that are available for everyone in the construction community.
The move reinforces Galliford Try's longstanding commitment to wellbeing, driven by its award-winning 'Be Well' programme, which spans several different areas of support including mental health training for employees and supply chain members, health check tools, advice lines, a comprehensive Employee Assistance Programme and access to Mental Health First Aiders.
Vikki Skene, HR Director for Galliford Try, said: "At Galliford Try, we recognise the health and wellbeing challenges within our industry. Following our recent commitment to the Building Mental Health Charter to make steps to improve mental health within our industry, we are proud to also become a Company Supporter of the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity and support their 'Help inside the Hard Hat' campaign.
"This builds on our own Be Well programme - which has led to 83% of those taking part in our recent employee pulse survey saying they feel supported by our business - and our work with Mates in Mind."
