Work Continues On Over 80 New Homes In Workington
Construction work is currently underway on over 80 new homes on the Farries Field site in Stainburn, near Workington.
Genesis Homes has committed to providing the valuable green spaces, which also includes wildflower meadows and planting.
The development will comprise properties ranging from two to four bedroom houses and two to three bedroom bungalows constructed to Genesis’ high specification and energy efficient standards.
John Blue, Land Director for Genesis Homes, said: "Particularly during the Covid-19 pandemic, people have shifted their focus more towards their mental wellbeing and having access to outdoor spaces, plenty of natural light and views onto water or green space has a major impact on improving people's mental health.
"In addition to providing a copious amount of green space to enjoy with the whole family, the homes at Farries Field will have plenty of outdoor space around them so people can enjoy the great outdoors in privacy too.
"We have worked hard to ensure that Farries Field will be in keeping with the history and character of the area, and we look forward to delivering another development the entire community can be proud of."
All houses constructed by the company have 100 per cent energy efficient lighting, smart energy meters and dual flush toilets, as well as double glazed windows and doors, water saving systems, quality insulation and efficient boilers.
Genesis Homes has also launched a scheme handing out eco packs to all new home buyers, with the packages consisting of a 200 litre water butt, a garden compost bin, special kitchen recycling bins and a rotary dryer to encourage less use of tumble dryers.
Managing Director Nicky Gordon said: "Genesis Homes is very serious about reducing its carbon footprint, and we always consider what impact our developments will have on the environment.
"The Farries Field development is a great example of this and we have ensured that we will provide plenty of green spaces for the whole community to enjoy."
