Galliford Try has appointed Phil Tompkins to the new role of Director of Risk & Sustainability, tasked with leading Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) across its recently launched Sustainable Growth strategy.

Phil joined the Group as Director of Risk and Internal Audit in February 2018 and has since played a key role in working with the Group's Board to monitor, assess and address the Group’s principal and emerging risks to support the achievement of strategic objectives. This has increasingly focused on the significance of ESG, which is at the core of the Group's new Sustainable Growth strategy, leading to a natural extension of his role.

Having published our net zero carbon targets earlier this year, we have, in quick succession, announced our Sustainable Growth Strategy which sets out our ambitions across a range of sustainability measures. We are already taking action and, for example, earlier this month we committed to a new electric company car policy.
