Gallagher Group Acquires Ready-Mix Concrete Plants From Cemex UK
Gallagher Group has acquired ready-mix concrete plants across Kent from Cemex UK.
Gallagher Group's first external acquisition, built on almost 50 years of consistent organic growth, takes its total number of concrete plants from two to six - more than doubling its annual production capacity, and extending its ready-mix supply network right across the county. In another significant boost for customers, they will now be able to deal directly with their local plant and sales team, rather than having to go through a remote central office.
All existing staff at the sites in Tunbridge Wells, Sittingbourne, Margate and Dover will be retained; new driver, supervisory and management roles are also being created. Gallagher Group is making substantial further investment to modernise and upgrade the plants, and is expanding its mixer fleet to match the increase in capacity and geographical reach. The newly-acquired plants join the company's existing sites at Maidstone and Ashford.
Sean Connor said: "We're responding to our customers’ needs by investing in enhancing our capacity in the market. More sites means wider coverage, complementing our county-wide ability to offer aggregates, recycling and muck away, and allows ready-mix customers right across Kent to benefit from our outstanding value and commitment to great service.
"The values upon which the Gallagher Group have been built, including our commitment to community support, charity work and creating local employment opportunities, will be replicated across Kent, with our customers at the forefront of everything that we do. We look forward to welcoming our new colleagues to the family."
