Galliford Try's Highway Business Announces Two New Appointments
Galliford Try's Highways business has made two new appointments to strengthen its team.
Alison Chippington, a chartered civil engineer with more than 30 years' experience, is set to become the new Pre-Construction Director for the business, with responsibility for all aspects of work-winning, tender strategies, pre-contract and bid management. In addition, she will take responsibility for the customer and business development team, as the business focuses on the significant organic growth opportunities that exist within the Highways sector.
Alison joins Galliford Try from Morgan Sindall where she was Head of Bid Management and Proposals and has undertaken roles from site engineer to site manager on a variety of infrastructure schemes before pursuing a career in pre-contract. Named Best Female Mentor at the 2016 European Women in Construction and Engineering Awards, Alison also supported the business’s QUEST scholarships, which aligns to Galliford Try’s focus on early careers and establishing itself as a destination workplace for those in infrastructure.
Ondrej Humplik has taken the role of Partnership Director for the Group's National Highways RDP Framework, reflecting the importance of our relationship with National Highways and the £400m framework to the business. Ondrej will lead the Highways business’ activity across the portfolio focusing on delivery performance, value and benefit realisation and our long-term collaborations with National Highways and the wider sector. Ondrej, whose experience spans more than 14 years, is also a chartered civil engineer and has worked across a number of high-profile major highways projects, most notably the A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon Improvement scheme. He joins from Balfour Beatty where he was Project Manager, most recently working on HS2.
