Wates FM To Carry Out Maintenance Work At Campus In Cambridge

Wellcome Genome Campus has selected Wates Facilities Management (FM) to carry out Building Services maintenance and minor works to the buildings and infrastructure at the biodata and genomics research campus in Cambridge.

Under the five-year contract Wates will undertake a full range of hard FM services working with the Wellcome Genome Campus to improve service delivery, develop building, energy and carbon emissions optimisation and supporting the Campus’ journey to net zero.

The Wellcome Genome Campus is home to some of the world's foremost institutes and organisations in genomics and computational biology, committed to delivering life-changing science with the reach, scale, and imagination to solve some of humanity's greatest challenges.

Wates has pledged to create opportunities for training and employment in Cambridge, working in partnership with the Wellcome Genome Campus to support the local community.

James Gregg, Managing Director of Wates FM, commented: "We are very proud to have been appointment to deliver Building Maintenance (M&E) Services at the Wellcome Genome Campus. We share many of the same values, especially in the drive towards a net zero carbon future, where Wates Group has committed to be zero waste and zero carbon from our operations by 2025.
