Sir Robert McAlpine has signed a contract to deliver 1 Broadgate, a landmark mixed use building in the City of London for British Land and GIC.
The scheme is the fifth project to be delivered under the Broadgate Framework for British Land and GIC, and is one of the largest design and build schemes Sir Robert McAlpine has ever delivered in London.
The contract follows the award, back in February 2021, of the demolition and enabling contract at 1 Broadgate, for the 14-storey scheme comprising 500,000 sq ft of offices to upper levels with 46,000 sq ft of retail beneath.
Alison Cox, Sir Robert McAlpine, Managing Director – London, said: "Our partnership with British Land and GIC at Broadgate is an industry exemplar for collaborative working. Having recently completed the multi-award winning 100 Liverpool St project, we are delighted to sign the contract to deliver 1 Broadgate, the fifth scheme of the framework. We are immensely proud to have achieved this level of repeat business from a key client; it's testament to everyone who has worked on previous Broadgate projects, and the mutual trust that has driven delivery of impressive outcomes."
