Pick Everard has been reappointed by major utilities provider EDF Energy to provide a multi-disciplinary consultancy service on its framework for the provision of professional services.
Having just completed a four-year framework agreement, the national independent property, construction and infrastructure consultancy has entered into the framework agreement, which will last a minimum of three years and will support EDF Energy in the management and development of its property estate.
Building on the strong relationship formed through ten years of collaboration between the two businesses, Pick Everard will offer its full ranges of services covering all framework lots. This includes project management, building surveying, cost management, architecture, structural and civil engineering, and mechanical and electrical engineering.
Daniel Noon, director at Pick Everard, said: "We're delighted to have renewed our place on EDF’s framework and opened the prospect of many more interesting projects within their national estate. We have a great relationship with EDF Energy and a mutual understanding of how our various design and consultancy services can benefit them moving forward.
"Like many national companies of similar stature and importance, EDF Energy is considering how best to utilise its property portfolio since the pandemic has changed the way we work. As well as the routine maintenance and upkeep of buildings, we will be involved in strategic projects which will allow EDF Energy to increase the efficiency of its existing facilities, paving the way for some new ones too.
"We expect these to be key drivers in the coming years and will open opportunities for us across the UK, whether that be our most recent project win in Scotland or an area of existing activity such as Gloucestershire."
By continuing its successful relationship with EDF Energy, Pick Everard will support them in gaining maximum value from their estates budget, whilst meeting their core ambitions for health and safety, zero harm and sustainability. The framework also extends to opportunities in supporting the delivery of work across multiple large-scale projects such as Hinkley Point C – one of EDF Energy’s eight UK-based nuclear power stations.
David Harris, partner at Pick Everard, said: "The synergies we have established with EDF Energy are stronger than ever and it's clear that our multi-disciplinary consultancy offering is capable of helping EDF succeed with its diverse estates plan for the next few years.
"The benefit of frameworks is widely recognised across the property and construction industry as a vehicle for driving public sector organisations forward, but the value can be equally applied to the private sector in the interest of consumers. Early engagement advisory services, design and project management are all included in our offering, allowing us to build and maintain successful relationships such as that with EDF Energy."
Richard King, property works manager at EDF Energy, said: "Having successfully worked together for a number of years on projects varying in value, we’re really pleased to be continuing our relationship with Pick Everard through this framework appointment. We are confident the projects we have planned for our estate can certainly be implemented with the help of Pick Everard. Our national responsibility contains many considerations and the facilities we offer to employees are a key part of this."
