Dominvs Group and Whitbread have celebrated the topping out of London's joint-largest Premier Inn in Hammersmith, London.
Designed by Stirling Prize-winning architects Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners and constructed by hotel experts HG Construction, the part-ten, part-five storey 400-bedroom hotel is set for completion in Q4 2024.
Sustainability is a central theme for the BREEAM Excellent scheme, which will see the rooftop utilised for air source heat pump infrastructure, solar panels and biodiverse green and blue rainwater storage. At the ground level, a new public realm will be introduced, including a plaza doubling as an event space for visitors and the local community.
Dominvs Group and Whitbread have previously partnered on a 180-bedroom Premier Inn hotel and Bar + Block Steakhouse in Milton Keynes. The two companies are also currently working on a mixed-use hotel and student accommodation development in Manchester City Centre.
Lee Saywack, Executive Director, Dominvs Group, said: "It's a privilege to have worked closely with Whitbread to create a new Premier Inn in the heart of West London. The London Plan has identified an additional 58,000 hotel rooms will be required by 2041, and as a London-based developer and investor working with listed institutions and capital providers we’re proud to be delivering much-needed hotel rooms as tourist numbers continue to recover from the lows experienced during the pandemic."
Adam Quinn, CEO, HG Construction, said: "This is a fantastic scheme which will significantly boost the hotel offering in the Hammersmith area and benefit the local community with an exciting new public space. The topping out ceremony is a great opportunity to come together and celebrate the hard work and dedication of the team in getting to this stage. We look forward to continuing to work collaboratively with Dominvs and the wider team and seeing this high quality, sustainable scheme progress further over the coming months."
